In 1987, Gabriel Katebian, established Cedar Catering Supplies a sister company to Cedar Refrigeration at 199 Sydney Road Brunswick. This was a corner shop that covered a small space no larger than ten square meters.
At this stage the company's profile was predominantly refrigeration and stainless steel fabrication, food service machinery and equipment.
Gabriel's son Danny Katebian joined Cedar in 1990, learning all aspects of the business. In 1993 Danny's father Gabriel returned to his home country and this was when at, twenty three years of age Danny was handed the reins and took control of the business.
Due to an outstanding commitment to customer service and determination to succeed, Cedar developed a strong and loyal customer base.
As the business developed, Cedar began to concentrate on tabletop equipment focusing on Café's and Restaurants. Cedar quickly outgrew its premises and it was time to look for a larger establishment, and relocated to 459 Sydney Road Brunswick.
In September 1995, Peter Campese joined with Danny Katebian to form the partnership that Cedar enjoys today.
Peter has many years experience in the hospitality industry, and quickly made a solid contribution to the further growth of the company and Cedar's market share began to climb. With sheer determination these two young men forged a reputation in the market place. The growth of the company was such that they had to move once again to larger premises to the current address of 194 Sydney Road Brunswick and added a new warehouse to the equation.
